May 2003 - Excell.Net has implemented open relay blocking on our mailservers. Our customers should see a reduction in the amount of UCE that has been cluttering their mailboxes. An open relay server is a mailserver on the Internet that allows a 3rd party to relay email through that mailserver. By allowing mail that is neither from or for a local user, an open relay makes it possible for unscrupulous indivduals to send out large amounts of UCE (unsolicited commercial email).
